A concert of “Songs of Fun and Foolishness,” supported by the University of Iowa Music Therapy Club, will help to support the Iowa City Hospice at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, in the University Capitol Centre Recital Hall.
Although admission to the concert is free, audience members are encouraged to bring donations from the attached wish list.
UI School of Music faculty member Katherine Eberle will be joined by pianist Lynn Conway and students from her voice studio in performances of comic songs by Tom Lehrer, Dick Manning, Paul Vance, David Frishberg, Thomas Pasatieri, Irving Cohn, Richard Hundley, Jerry Silverman and Cy Coben, as well as a new piece by UI student composer Megan Keith.

The University is moving ahead with rebuilding plans for the UI Arts Campus! Architects are now in place for a new Art and Art History Building (Steven Holl), Hancher Auditorium (Pelli, Clark, Pelli) and the School of Music (LMN,) and are busy with their preliminary work, including assembling their design teams and fleshing out the building programming.
Donors have been asking when they can start making gifts to rebuild those facilities and the answer is now!
We have advised donors to wait with their gifts until we were assured that those gifts would not have a negative impact on FEMA funding. We are delighted that we can finally accept gifts for these buildings. If you have any questions about contributing to the new School of Music, please contact Jane Van Voorhis, Associate Director of Development at The University of Iowa Foundation by calling 319-467-3765 or emailing her at email@example.com.
